Plataforma X: Pas largimit të reklamuesve
Elon Musk’s ownership of Platform X could potentially lose up to 75 million dollars in advertising revenue by the end of the year as dozens of major brands halt their campaigns.
The reason for the mass exodus of advertisers was the anti-Semitic comments which Musk seems to have agreed with. This has led companies such as Walt Disney and Warner Bros Discovery to halt advertising on the platform.
Internal documents cited by the New York Times in a report show that there are more than 200 campaigns from companies including Airbnb, Amazon, and Microsoft, many of which have either stopped or are considering stopping ads on X. Since October 2022, when Musk also acquired Twitter, advertisers have been leaving the platform. Many have expressed concern over the technology billionaire’s choice to revive some accounts related to hate speech. Advertising revenue from the platform in the United States has dropped at least 55% year over year every month since Musk acquired Twitter.
Musk recently threatened to sue the media monitoring organization “Media Matters” and others who attacked his social media platform X, after several major American companies decided to halt advertising on this network where they appeared alongside anti-Semitic materials. Musk and company X have been at the center of attention this week due to anti-Semitic and racist materials that have spread on this network since he acquired it in 2022. Remember, Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI will be integrated into his social media platform X and will also be available as a standalone application. The technology billionaire also stated that xAI released its first AI model, a bot called Grok, after making it available to all X Premium+ subscribers.
